Exclusive Wrigley Field Marquee Boards Endorsed By Wrigley Retail.
Our Story...
A couple of years ago we made bags for the Wrigley Convention that were sold through the ballpark's Retail Channel. The bags were well received, but incomplete without boards. Now we have now finally come up with a classic board design that has Wrigley's seal of approval. We make the boards in 2 different sizes, with heavy or lightweight frames.
About the Boards...
We Start with Quality Materials....
We start with top grade cabinet quality 1/2 inch birch. We then coat them with an oil based high gloss outdoor spar urethane to protect them from the elements. Next, we apply paint and the decal - made from heaay duty outdoor vinyl - able to withstand the elements and the rigorous demands of the game. An additional layer of clear protectant is then applied to the boards to make things flush. We glue and screw the boards to the frames from underneath so that the tops of the boards won't show nails or holes.
WE LIKE 1/2 inch BIRCH - we've tested other materials like pine, MDF, Plywood, Golden Plywood, but found that birch offers better quality, a natural finish, at affordable prices.

Tailgate Size For our 36 inch Tailgate boards we generally use 1X4 boards - Light and Sturdy for ultimate portability. The weight of both boards is approximately 30 lbs.
Short and Stout - 36 inch boards with a 2X3 frame. Heavier. approximate weight 40lbs.
Long and Lean - 48 inch regulation boards on a 1X4 Frame. approximate weight of both boards 40 lbs.
The legs for the boards are fastened with hinges and connected with a piece of wood that doubles as a drink holder. They fold for convenient carrying and storage.
When you have top grade cabinet quality 1/2 inch birch plywood why hide it underneath a coat of paint? There are a lot of different methods to making these game boards, and prices range from $50 to $350 per set - and we've seen just about everything. A $50 set of boards is made from low grade plywood that is likely to warp, and coated with tons of paint to create a smoother surface. Another way to make cheap boards is to use paneling, or fiberboard - easier to paint, but not as good as natural wood. A $350 set of boards is generally 3/4 inch oak, maple, or cherry wood. These are great quality, very, heavy, and sometimes too nice to get dirty. They can provide cover in the event of sniper fire or ambush, but don't let the kids play on them or Grandpa will throw a fit!
Got a better design? different specs? share them and we will make your boards to order.
